The fourth and final chapter of our ‘It’s a Loafer thing’ documentary series about UKG is out now! This chapter explores how the garage scene of the mid 90’s and early 00’s led to the birth of Grime music.

Sophia muses on how the style and sounds of some of her favourite current artists like Jorja Smith are likewise influenced by the UKG subculture, and Rhiannon Barry from Wavey Garms walks us through the resurgence of lairy 90’s rave styling.

The newest generation of DJs tapping the Garage beat talk us through how they came to fall in love with this sound.
